Return conditions

Overview

Two routes apply to returns side by side. Within the first 14 days your statutory right of withdrawal applies. Beyond that we voluntarily grant you a return option of 30 days. The voluntary right of return is an additional contractual offer and does not restrict your statutory right of withdrawal.

1. Statutory right of withdrawal (14 days)

As a consumer you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving reasons. You may unpack and inspect the goods as you would be allowed to do in a shop. Compensation for loss of value only falls due if you have handled the goods beyond that.

2. Voluntary right of return (30 days)

After the withdrawal period has expired we voluntarily take goods back until the 30th day after receipt. The condition is that the set is unused and comes back complete in its original packaging, including stones, bowls and the enclosed guide.

There is no legal entitlement to this voluntary right of return. It applies only to orders placed through ikigo.eu and only to consumers.

3. Excluded from return

Products with individual engraving are not taken back, that is boards with a personal dedication and boards with artwork you have uploaded yourself. We make these pieces specifically for you. Under section 312g (2) no. 1 BGB they are excluded both from withdrawal and from the voluntary return.

So that you know exactly what you are getting beforehand, the engraving studio shows your dedication on your material as a preview before you order. For your own artwork you additionally receive a digital draft by e-mail within 24 hours, and engraving only starts after your approval.

The exclusion does not apply to defective goods. If a piece is damaged, engraved incorrectly or differs from what you approved, your statutory rights in respect of defects apply, see section 6.

4. Procedure

Write to us at info@ikigo.eu before returning anything and state your order number. We will then agree the return route and the packaging with you. Slate is fragile, and a short exchange saves both sides a transport damage case.

Please return the goods sufficiently protected, if possible in the original packaging. We cannot accept unpaid consignments.

You bear the direct cost of returning the goods.

If you return goods from a country outside the European Union, that is from Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the United States or Canada, arranging this with us in advance is particularly important. The consignment must be declared as returned goods and carry a customs declaration, otherwise charges arise again on import into Germany. We cannot accept consignments for which import charges are invoiced to us.

5. Refund

As soon as the goods have reached us and been inspected, we refund the purchase price. In the case of statutory withdrawal we additionally refund the cost of the cheapest standard delivery we offer; within Germany we ship free of charge anyway. In the case of the voluntary return under section 2 we refund the value of the goods.

We cannot refund import charges you paid in your country for the original delivery. They did not flow to us. You can reclaim these amounts from the customs authority of your country on application if the goods are shown to have been returned.

The refund is made using the same means of payment you used for the order, unless expressly agreed otherwise. You do not incur any fees for this. In the case of statutory withdrawal we refund within 14 days at the latest after receipt of your declaration of withdrawal, whereby we may withhold repayment until we have received the goods or until you provide proof of return.

6. Defects, transport damage and missing parts

Irrespective of withdrawal and voluntary return, the statutory rules on liability for defects apply, with a limitation period of two years from delivery.

Our products are made from natural materials. Variations in grain, colour and structure of wood and slate are inherent in the material, form part of the agreed quality and do not constitute a defect. Every slate plate turns out differently.

If your parcel arrived damaged, please write to us at info@ikigo.eu with a photograph, ideally straight after unpacking. Transport damage is at our expense, we remake or refund.

If a single stone is missing or has been lost, that is not a return case. Write to us telling us which set you have and which colour is missing, and we will print a replacement.
